'Blood Diamond’ PolicyThere has been much publicity recently about conflict diamonds or blood diamonds, especially with the recent release of the Leonardo Di Caprio film of the same name. |
Fortunately, the diamond and jewellery industry has been very aware of the blood diamond problem for a number of years now, and alongside International welfare, trade and government organisations, the Diamond Council has been working to ensure that only legitimate diamonds , which are conflict free, come into the diamond industry.
With this in mind the Kimberley process was set up through the United Nations in the year 2000 when approximately 4% of the worlds trade involved conflict diamonds, now that figure is less than 1% and by working together, we hope it can be eradicated altogether .
Charlotte Cornelius can guarantee that the diamonds supplied by her since the Kimberley process was set up have been legitimate, non-conflict diamonds.
Even before this time, only legitimate and extremely reputable dealers were used by Charlotte and you can be assured that her sources are fully compliant with these policies, and indeed have been instrumental in setting up these safeguards within the industry.
Ethical trading is of great importance to Charlotte and she welcomes any comments or questions regarding these issues, please contact her on info@charlottecornelius.com for further information.
